Michael S. McCormick, D.M.D., FAGD
Dr. McCormick began his dental career in 1981 in the United States Army as a Dental Assistant and then a Dental Hygienist. While serving in the Army, he earned the Expert Field Medic Badge and two Army Commendation Medals. After serving, he obtained his Associate degree in Dental Laboratory Technology from Erie Community College where he now serves on the Dental Laboratory Advisory Committee.
He then continued his education at Temple University School of Dental Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After graduation, he began practicing in Syracuse, NY before moving back to his hometown of Western New York. He began practicing in East Aurora, NY in 2003 and eventually purchased the practice in 2007.
Dr. McCormick is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, a member in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the International Association of Orthodontics, a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Dawson Academy Alumni Association, the Metropolitan Study Club, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society and the Eighth District Dental Society.
With his extensive advanced post-graduate training, he is emphasizing his practice towards treating the whole masticatory system and not just tooth dentistry. This includes Head and Neck Pain, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMJ/TMD), Orthodontics and Sleep Disordered Breathing (sleep apnea), Bruxism and Occlusal disease (clenching/grinding/wear) and the treatment of these interconnected problems as a whole.
Dr. McCormick enjoys spending his free time with his wife Jean and their daughter Abigail. He also likes going to the Bills and Sabres games and spending time at the beach.
